Why Kathayan calls itself a storytelling initiative
Kathayan Editorial · 10 September 2026 · 3 min read
Words shape expectations. Kathayan publishes documentaries, knowledge journeys and original stories — and describes itself accordingly.
Kathayan is a digital storytelling and knowledge platform of Vermaverse OPC Private Limited. It is not marketed as a subscription service, a broadcaster or a news channel, and the public site avoids language that would suggest otherwise.
The practical reason is honesty. A visitor who reads 'unlimited streaming' expects a catalogue on demand. A visitor who reads 'documentaries, knowledge journeys and original stories' expects exactly what Kathayan publishes: a small, sourced body of work that grows slowly.
Terminology alone does not settle how any service is classified in law. Kathayan reviews its actual services, content model and functionality separately, with professional advice, and updates its policy pages when that review calls for it.
