Corrections Policy
Accuracy matters to us. This policy explains how errors in Kathayan programmes and stories are handled once identified.
Our commitment
We verify facts before publication. When an error does get through, we correct it promptly, transparently and prominently — we do not silently delete mistakes.
How errors are corrected
- Factual errors — corrected in the video, description or accompanying text, with a note stating that a correction was made and when
- Substantial errors — where an error changes the meaning of a programme, the content may be re-edited, re-published with a clear correction note, or withdrawn
- Clarifications — where content is accurate but incomplete or open to misreading, a clarification is added rather than changing the original
Report an error
If you spot a factual error in anything we publish, write to contact@kathayan.in with the title, the timestamp or passage, and the correct information with a source where possible. Error reports are reviewed by the editorial team and, where needed, by the Grievance Officer.
Historical and interpretive content
Documentaries on history, culture and tradition sometimes involve interpretation. Where scholars differ, we say so in the programme rather than presenting one view as settled fact. Disagreement with an interpretation is handled through the grievance process, not as a factual correction.
