Grievance Redressal

Kathayan follows a defined grievance-redressal procedure for complaints about any content published on the platform, in line with applicable Indian law including the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

What you can complain about

  • Content you believe violates applicable law or your rights
  • Incorrect or misleading factual claims in a programme
  • Copyright or trademark infringement
  • Content classification (age rating) you disagree with
  • Privacy, defamation or dignity concerns
  • Anything else about content published on Kathayan

How to file a complaint

Email contact@kathayan.in with the subject line Grievance, and include:

  • Your name and a way to reach you
  • The title or URL of the content in question
  • The specific portion or timestamp your complaint concerns
  • The nature of your complaint and what outcome you seek

Complaints can also be sent by post to the registered office listed below.

Timelines

We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours of receipt and resolve it within 15 days. Where a complaint needs more time — for example, verification with an outside party — we will tell you why and give an updated timeline.

What happens next

The Grievance Officer reviews the complaint against our editorial policy, classification policy and applicable law. Outcomes can include a correction, an edit, an age-rating change, removal of the content, or a reasoned reply explaining why no change is being made. You receive the outcome in writing at the contact you provided.
