Creator Desk

Original stories, screenplays, documentary pitches, story journey concepts and research proposals, in Hindi or English. If your work is published on Kathayan, it keeps its identity: your name and role appear in the credits of everything you contribute to.

Send your work through the submission form. Every submission is read by the development team and acknowledged. Please read the submission guidelines first — they cover what we can accept, originality and consent.

Shortlisted work enters editorial review, where our editors assess research, accuracy and fit. Factual work is fact-checked and every claim is tied to a verified source before publication, in line with our editorial principles. We never publish a piece without the creator's knowledge.

Rights are agreed in writing before publication, and credit is structured: each contributor's role is recorded and shown on the work's own credits page, so it survives redesigns. Read how we handle rights and permissions on the Rights & Permissions page.
