Child Safety
Kathayan is a general-audience platform. Protecting children — in what we publish and in how we produce — is a condition of publication, not an afterthought.
Zero tolerance
Child sexual abuse material, sexualisation of minors, and any content that grooms, endangers or exploits a child is prohibited without exception. Such material is removed immediately on detection and reported to the appropriate authorities.
Classification and access
Every title is age-classified before release and the rating is shown on the title page. Titles rated U/A 16+ and A carry an explicit advisory. Parents and guardians should use the displayed ratings and descriptors when deciding what a child may watch.
Children in our productions
- Written consent from a parent or legal guardian before any minor is filmed.
- A guardian or authorised adult present during every shoot involving a minor.
- Working hours and schooling protected as required by law.
- No depiction of a child in a demeaning, frightening or sexualised manner.
- Identifying details of a child withheld where publication could cause harm.
Reporting a concern
Report anything involving a child to contact@kathayan.in or call 0657-4506627. Mark the message “Child safety” — these reports are escalated ahead of all other complaints and reviewed the same day.
In an emergency in India, contact Childline at 1098 or the police at 112 first. Please also tell us so we can restrict the material without delay.
Accountability
Dr. Rajshree Verma, Grievance Officer, is responsible for child safety compliance at Vermaverse OPC Private Limited. Actions taken are recorded in the monthly compliance report published on this site.
